Personality:
An imposing fellow to say the least, Jake Clayton is an exceptionally strong-headed person. While he's not necessarily close-minded, he demands to know the facts before he makes any decisions. This can pertain to anything as innocent as an article in the Daily Prophet, or something as conspicuous as apprehending a presumed criminal. Very rarely will he make judgments based on the comments and thoughts of other people; he isn't the type to listen to or spread rumors, either. He's a no-nonsense kind of guy - to a certain extent. He won't hesitate having a few drinks with his buddies or going out and getting to know new people.

While he isn't the most sociable person in the world, Jake still finds enjoyment with being in the company of others. Don't expect him to instill a lot of trust in you when he first meets you; it takes a while for him to consider a person to be 'trustworthy'. Nonetheless, he is very close to those he sees as his friends, and rarely does he hesitate calling upon them in his time of need.

History:
Jacob Arthur Clayton was born to non-magical parents Robert and Felicia Clayton thirty-two years ago. The family of three resided in Norwich for the first eleven years of the boy's life, where his father worked as an insurance salesman and his mother a pediatrician. Growing up, it was never known that their son possessed magical attributes. His parents and parents' parents were Muggles through and through. There was never any connotation that he would someday be able to wield a wand. So, naturally, he was treated like any non-magical child. He attended public school, played soccer, and excelled in science and reading. He was bright academically, but never really fit in with his other classmates. He'd always been on the quieter side, and would often read a book during his lunch hour rather than sit down to eat with his other classmates. His parents absolutely adored him, though, and treated him with the utmost kindness and care that he cherished.

The day his Hogwarts letter arrived in the mail came as an enormous shock to the Claytons, but more-so to Jake. There had been no connotation that he was of a magical background, and despite the surprise that ensued following the mysterious note, Jake's parents remained supportive of their son and went along with him to help shop for his school supplies. Soon after they'd prepared for his departure did he finally board the Hogwarts Express.

His years at Hogwarts were full of many surprises, twists and turns. Sorted into Ravenclaw, he showed promise in his Defense Against the Dark Arts and Charms classes, proving to be very quick and proficient with a wand. He made a small number of friends - as well a few enemies - during his first couple of years, and he would spend holidays and summers with his parents back home. He played Reserve for Ravenclaw's Quidditch team as a Beater during his third year, but was rarely summoned to fill in for anybody.

Nevertheless, he still found things to do around the castle. From exploring the grounds to reading by fireplace in Ravenclaw Tower, Jake never tired of his seemingly routine school life. He found enjoyment in every day and made the best with what he had. Come the next couple of years, he was on the right track academically, receiving excellent marks in Defense Against the Dark Arts, Charms, Transfiguration, and needless to say, Muggle Studies.

Towards the end of his fifth year, Jake took his O.W.L.'s. He received one for D.A.D.A, Muggle Studies, Transfiguration, Charms and Herbology - scoring a mere 'A' for the latter of the five. He scored a number of 'E's', as well as two 'O's' for Defense Against the Dark Arts and Charms. He didn't bother taking any N.E.W.T.s, since his pursued career of Hit Wizard required a mere total of five O.W.L.'s to even be considered for employment in the field (http://harrypotter.wikia.com/wiki/Hit_Wizard).

Following his graduation from Hogwarts, Jake applied to become a Hit Wizard position for the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. He was accepted shortly thereafter. As for his training, he was taught a plethora of defensive spells and counter-curses. Per the requirements of his job, he was also taught how to both capture and bring under control criminals without corralling the attention of Muggles. Throughout his 'internship', he was paid some two hundred Galleons a month. After he became an official Hit Wizard, his salary was bumped up to the common seven hundred Galleons.

Jake's father passed away when Jake was twenty-six-years-old. After a short period of grievance and offered time off from his job, he finally went back to work.

Today, he doesn't see a awful lot of action, but he does get to join in on a couple of arrests and raids once in a while. Most of the time though, his work consists of mounds of paperwork and friendly bantering among his co-workers.

Hobbies: Reading, writing, cooking, and playing the piano (occasionally).
Likes: His job, fictitious stories, butterbeer, vanilla ice cream, travelling
Dislikes: Being disrespected, deceit, being ordered around, following an 'agenda', chaos
Pets: None
Siblings: None

Example Post:
It wasn’t every day Jake saw his share of hitwizarding action. He trained constantly, though, to perfect his skills with apprehending would-be dangerous criminals and accomplices. Most of the time, he was perched behind his desk completing and filing mounds of paperwork.

Briggs’ record wasn’t all that impressive - not to him at least. He’d read worse. Much worse. But apparently, it was highly possible that the man had cured Runespoor venom in his place of residency. Had it been any other non-ephemeral substance, Jake wouldn’t have had any problems with simply blasting his way in and downing their suspect with a well-placed stun. He’d done it before, and he was more than willing to do it again. Unfortunately, that method would more than likely result foully.

“Hopefully,” he replied, “but improbable. Keep an eye open. If he exerts a wand, there probably isn’t any venom. I doubt he‘d risk using magic if there was.”

He drew his wand from the pocket of his trench coat and stood to the side. He, too, heard somebody on the other side of the door.

He muttered, “Well, at least we know he’s in there, eh?”

When it became clear that the thief wasn‘t going to let them in, Jake quirked a brow at the Auror.

“What’d I tell you?”

He stepped forward, slammed his foot onto the door and splintered the wood. Without waiting for the next go-ahead, he barged through, wand raised and at the ready.
